“Japanese Internship Program” at EDU

East Delta University celebrated the event “Japanese Students Internship Program” at her Probartak Building on September 12, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. Through this program, a group of Japanese students are doing their internship at EDU and this is for the first time Japanese students are doing internship in a university of Bangladesh. Thus EDU has added a new edge in the impartation of high quality education and started her vigorous journey towards going global.

In the commencement of the program Md. Firoz Shah, President of AOTS Alumni Society, Chittagong, said that in future AOTS and EDU would work together for participation of Japanese students in this internship program. Md. Nurul  Alam, consular general of Japan and honorable Chief Guest of the occasion said that Japan is a tested friend of Bangladesh. He avowed that the cooperation from East Delta University would strengthen the friendship between Bangladesh and Japan. Prof. M. Sekander Khan, the honorable Vice Chancellor of EDU, in the presiding speech, said that Bangladesh is to learn a lot from Japan, one of the most successful countries from economic perspectives. He further said that Japan can learn from Bangladesh about roles and experiences of microcredit formula in the emancipation from poverty, garments industries, empowerment of women, and dealing with natural disasters. Prof. A. Qaiyum Chowdhury, Associate Dean at EDU, said that the EDU faculty and students can enjoy a rare chance of exchanging their experiences with Japanese interns through the three-month long internship program.

Among the Japanese interns, Najomi Seema, Hartousi Tanaka, Akihiro Takagi and Yo     Oishi were present at the occasion. The Vice Chancellor Prof. M. Sekander Khan presented the crests and flower bouquets to the Chief Guest. The profile of the Chief Guest was presented by Rashed Al Karim, faculty and BBA program coordinator at EDU. Later a magnificent role play upholding the essence of the program was staged by EDU students including Cherry, Zaeed, Ashab, Fatema, Fahima, Hossain and Amit. In the thanksgiving speech Dr. Mohammad Nurul Absar Nahid, MBA program coordinator of EDU, averred that EDU will sustain a substantial role in disseminating and generating knowledge through some international internship programs like this one.  Hosted by the EDU students Mehnaz and Zaheda, this program further enjoyed the presence of Mr Mahbubul  Mannan Chowdhury, former president of CAAS, Rafia Akter, Assistant Professor and Chair, Department of Engineering, Shah Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Faculty members Tabassum Chowdhury, Tofatunnesa Chowdhury, Md. Asaduzzaman, Deputy Registrar Sajal Kanti Barura, Assistant Registrar Fatima Haroon Daisy, Senior Executive Accounts Ruhi Afsana, Public Relation Officer Romel Raihan, IT Executive  Javed Karim Chowdhury and many others.
