Many Problems Of The Country Can Be Solved Through Social Business Vice Chancellor Of EDU

 

A seminar entitled “Social Business” was held in the gallery of Faculty of Social Science in Chittagong University on 19th May 2012, Saturday, organized by the department of International Relations in collaborations with Yunus Center at Dhaka. Prof. M. Sikander Khan, Vice Chancellor of EDU, Associate Prof. Dr. Mir. Md. Nurul Abser Nahid, MBA program coordinator at EDU and ten brilliant students of EDU were present in the seminar. The inauguration program of the seminar was followed by workshop on Social Business. Different aspects of Social business were nicely presented by M. F. Amir Khosru, the coordinator of Social Business at Yunus Center. Prof. M. Sikander Khan, Vice Chancellor of EDU said that like micro credit, the concept of Social Business will also be recognized throughout the world pretty soon.  Associate Prof. Dr. Mir. Md. Nurul Abser Nahid said that as a substitute of Corporate Social Responsibility, Social Business is also capable of solving any social problem and it will leave a positive influence in the wellbeing of mankind. He also said that EDU School of Business and Yunus Center will work together in education and research sectors for Social Business throughout the country. The students of EDU presented before the audience their plans for Social Business which were highly appreciated. Like previous year, a delegation team consisting of both faculties and students will participate in an international Social Business seminar this year. Through video conferencing Nobel laureate Dr. Md. Yunus welcomed all in the seminar and highlighted on the importance of Social Business. EDU students: Ahsab Uddin, Jaigam, Imran Dovash, Emran, Arefuddin, Ridwan participated in the seminar. Among others the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University Prof. Dr. Alauddin, Emeritus Prof. Dr. Alamgir Md. Sirajuddin, Dr. Jyoti Prokash Dutta and Dr. Mahfuzul Hoque Chowdhury were present in the seminar.
