Success Of EDU Students At BYLC

Bangladesh Youth Leadership Summit 2012 was held recently in Bangobondhu Auditorium, Dhaka. 450 delegates were selected from 2100 applicants of 64 districts. The promising students of EDU: Zaheda Karim, Fatema Munir, Fahima Haroon, and Zaed Jubair were selected to attend the program. A speech of welcome was given by the founder and President of BYLC, Mr. Ejaj Ahmed in the leadership summit. Secretary of Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Mahbub Ahmed, founder of Bissho Sahitto Kendro, Prof. Abdullah Abu Sayeed, actor and freedom fighter, Mr. Ali Zaker, director of Leadership Development, Mr. Max Claw, the editor of the Daily Star, Mr. Mahfuz Anam and others delivered speech in this three day long program. On the first day the students of EDU attended a workshop on “Global Citizenship” by the editor of the Daily Star, Mr. Mahfuz Anam. The Japanese ambassador, Mr. Shiro Sadhosima, the coordinator in Bangladesh of United Nations Resident, Mr. Nil Walker, CEO of Robi Telecommunications, Mr. Michael Cooheyner were present in the workshop as panel members. On the second day the students of EDU attended a workshop on “Entrepreneurship” by the ex president of FBCCI, Mr. Anisul Hoque. The chairman of Adcom, Mrs. Gitiara Safia, the president of FBCCI, Mr. A. K. Azad, the Managing Director of A. K. Khan & Co. Ltd., Mr. Salahuddin Kashem Khan were present in the workshop as panel members. On the third day the students of EDU attended a workshop on “Social Impact Markets” by the Managing Director and CEO of Reneta Limited, Mr. Sayeed Kaiser Kabir. The Chief Marketing Officer of Robi Extra Limited, Mr. Pradip Srivastava, the project leader of Boston Consutling Group, Mr. Kahari Dhananint, the founder and CEO of M. Power Health, Mr. Mridul Chowdhury were present in the workshop as panel members. Later the summit closing ceremony was held in Basundhara Convention Center. The closing ceremony was chaired by the Advisor and special representative of the Prime Minister and member of the international advisory board of BYLC, Mr. Gowhor Rizvee. The co-founder and Principal of Cambridge Leadership Associates, Mr. Marty Linski, the USA ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr. Dun Mozzena, the member of the international advisory board of BYLC and Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh, Mr. Mijarul Kayes also delivered speech in the ceremony. A vote of thanks was expressed by the chairman of BYLC, Mr. Monjur Hasan. The skills and active participations of EDU students gained everyone’s appreciation.
