Academic Council's Meeting
-“No Compromising with Quality”

A meeting of the Academic Council of EDU was held at the University conference room on Monday, June 23, 2008. The meeting was presided over by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Giasuddin Ahmed . In the meeting, progress of the academic programs was assessed and the future courses of actions were discussed. It was unanimously agreed to give maximum possible support and assistance in the forms of scholarship and financial aids to the genuine meritorious and needy students of EDU without compromising with quality in terms of recruitment of faculty member as well of students. It was also opined that, the case-cum-research oriented EDU curriculum will be able fetch positive results in the education sector of Bangladesh in near future.

The meeting was conducted by the EDU Registrar Mr. Sajal Barua. In the discussions, Business School Coordinator Associate Prof. A. Qaiyum Chowdhury, faculty of Finance Mr. Kamruddin Parvez, faculty of Human Resources Management and Marketing Mrs. Tarana Karim, EDU's visiting professors and Members of Advisory Council Dr. Masud Mahmood, Dr. Ganesh Chandra Roy, Dr. Shahadat Hossain, University Project Director Mr. Sayeed Al Noman, and Students Services and Corporate Relations Director Sazia Abdullah took part.

In the meeting, necessary arrangements and the detailed schedules of the Business Ethics course to be taken by the visiting Prof. Dr. Habib Khondker, Head of the Department of Sociology of Zayed University of Abu Dhabi also a visiting Professor of Cornell and Columbia University of USA, MBA's Marketing Management course to be taken by visiting faculty Mr. Mushtaque Ahmed from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka, Principles of Micro Economics and Principles of Macro Economics to be taken by Prof. Dr. Debasish Chakraborty from Central Michigan University, USA, were discussed in threadbare.
