Structure of the Program
The program offers standard curricula that cover the recent development in economics as well as the areas that have traditionally formed the core of the discipline. Bachelor of Arts in Economics is a 124 credit hour program, which a student is expected to complete in 4 years. These credits are divided into core, elective and general education courses.
The total number of courses required for this degree is 41 (including 4 credits of research project), of which 8 are general education courses, 22 are core courses and the rest 10 are concentration/elective courses. In addition, the students need to complete successfully a research project of four credit hours. Credits earned on pre-university courses will not be counted for graduation.
The undergraduate program in economics offers concentration in Business Economics, Advanced Economic Theory, Trade and Development, Environment-Population Economics and Resource Management. The general study courses must be completed within the first two years of the program. A student is allowed to do concentration in one area only.
