Bachelor of Science in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE)

OBJECTIVE AND PHILOSOPHY
The telecommunication is at the forefront of the information age. Communication is the fastest growing growing industry sector in the world. The past few years have seen rapid and extensive developments in all aspects of telecommunication. The discipline of telecommunication engineering is concerned with all aspects of theory and application for a broad range of systems such as telephone and data networks, radio and television broadcasting, satellite and deep space applications. It is also connected to digital communications, microwaves and antennas, optical communications, the design and manufacture of lasers and optical fibers, signal and information processing and satellite mobile communication.
The ETE department prepares students to contribute to advancement in the rapidly changing field of telecommunications by providing advanced studies as part of the BSc in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering degree program. They will learn about the design, planning, commissioning and monitoring of complex telecommunication networks and broadcasting equipments.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
SSC / HSC :
- S.S.C & H.S.C/equivalent Public Examination with total GPA of 5.00 or above with at least 2.50 in each examination with Mathematics and Physics.
- S.S.C & H.S.C/equivalent Public Examination with total GPA of 6.00 or above, if the GPA in any of the examinations is less than 2.50 but not less than 2.00 with Mathematics and Physics.
GCE O-Levels / A-Levels:
- 5 subjects in O-Level and 2 subjects in A-Level with total minimum 26.5 points with Mathematics and Physics.
- Students who have passed GCE A-Level or the American High School Examination or the International Baccalaureate Examinations are also eligible for admission. The University may take other systems into consideration.
